Each year, the RCN nominate an annual charity as part of their commitment to give something back.
Did you know, the headquarters of the Royal College of Nursing (RCN) is also home to our amazing events venue, 20 Cavendish Square. Each and every event that takes place at our venue contributes towards the outstanding work undertaken by this membership organisation. We are extremely proud to play a part and to support the brilliant work that they do.
Each year, the RCN nominate an annual charity as part of their commitment to “give something back” For the last two years the charity has been Age UK The activities included volunteering, baking, fundraising, dressing up to the nines in outfits from over the ages and knitting up a storm to create an amazing 639 tiny hats – to name but a few!
This year RCN’s nominated charity is The Big Issue. As an organisation they will be sponsoring the iconic red tabards. Within the world of nursing, independence and maximizing potential are both crucial factors and as such, The Big Issue’s self-help ethos is a brilliant match. Those who are facing poverty and exclusion are given the opportunity to earn a living and work independently. The Big Issue magazines are bought by Vendors with their own money and sell them to the public at their own profit or loss.
There are so many ways to get involved in this and other amazing charities and make a real difference. Whether it’s something big or something small, one thing is for sure, it always counts!
