20 Cavendish Square is an ideal venue for meetings and conferences in Westminster with a range of spaces to suit. Every room at 20 Cavendish Square combines distinctive character with modern facilities creating a setting that is both timeless and practical. Original Georgian architecture, refined interiors, and historic character sit alongside contemporary technology and flexible event capabilities, ensuring each space is designed to meet the needs of today’s meetings, conferences, private dining experiences, and celebrations. Our in-house AV technicians are on hand throughout, and additional breakout rooms can be arranged to suit your event.

At the heart of 20 Cavendish Square, Cowdray Hall offers an impressive setting shaped by stained glass windows, original oak doors, soaring ceilings, and plenty of natural daylight. The Hall is the largest event space and has capacity for up to 180 delegates in theatre layout.  The adjoining Council Room can be booked alongside as an additional networking space. Both spaces offer flexible layouts, built-in projection, surround sound, and high-speed internet as standard. 

 For midsized events, Rosalind Paget, Agnes Hunt, and Annie Altschul provide bright, well-equipped rooms with space for seminars, workshops, and away days. Rooms like Sarah Swift and Florence Nightingale are set up for focused boardroom meetings, with seating for smaller groups around a single table. 

Drinks Receptions and Award Dinners

There’s a unique atmosphere to hosting an evening in a Georgian townhouse that a modern venue cannot match. Wood panelled walls, high ceilings, and original period details create an atmosphere that does much of the heavy lifting for you.  

 The Cowdray Hall is our flagship space for large drinks receptions and dining, with capacity for up to 120 in cabaret and 200 standing. The Council Room works well as the registration area, drinks space, or a smaller reception space, whether you’re welcoming guests for a product launch, an awards dinner, or a networking reception.   

 Both rooms are fully equipped with AV facilities for presentations, digital displays, and live streaming, making them ideal for product launches, award dinners, networking receptions, and speeches. Our hospitality partner, Green & Fortune, provides everything from canapé receptions to three-course seated dinners.

When you’re hosting an event that requires participation, the layout matters. At 20 Cavendish Square, we offer flexible seating configurations designed to keep groups connected and encourage interaction. These include classroom, cabaret, and U-shape.   

For larger seminars and training days, the Cowdray Hall, Peggy Nuttall, and the Annie Altschul rooms provide bright spaces for larger workshops, with additional breakout rooms available for smaller group sessions. Midsized rooms like the Edith Cavell, Rosalind Paget, and Florence Nightingale are well-suited to workshops and focused team days.  

 For a more adaptable space, the Agnes Hunt and Annie Altschul rooms feature a partition wall, suitable for workshops with breakout sessions or for multiple group activities. 

 All rooms are fitted with high-quality AV systems, and our in-house technical teams are on hand to support you on the day. Whether you need a straightforward projector setup or a more complex hybrid event with remote delegates, we can advise.  

 

Event Catering

Catering at 20 Cavendish Square is delivered exclusively by our hospitality partner, Green & Fortune, an independent, B Corp-certified hospitality company with nearly two decades of experience. From breakfasts and light lunches to canapes and buffets, their menus impress.  

 All dishes are crafted using locally sourced, seasonal ingredients that support sustainability and reduce food miles. At least 50% of their core products come from independent British producers or their own farm in Northumberland. Green & Fortune catering meets all dietary requirements, including vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and dairy-free as required. 

 On days without a catered event, or for delegates who want something more informal between sessions, the Trampoline Café is open throughout the day, offering fresh coffee and cakes.

How many event spaces are available at 20 Cavendish Square?

We have 15 flexible event spaces spread across three floors. Rooms range from intimate boardrooms for eight people through to Cowdray Hall, which comfortably accommodates up to 200 delegates. Adjoining spaces can be combined to suit your event or capacity requirements. 

What is the maximum capacity for events?

Our largest space, Cowdray Hall, holds up to 180 delegates in a theatre-style layout. For standing receptions, capacity is up to 200 guests. Smaller rooms are available for groups of eight to 60, with a range of layout options to suit your format. 

What types of events can I host at the venue?

We regularly host conferences, board meetings, seminars, training days, workshops, team away days, drinks receptions, awards dinners, product launches, AGMs, and networking events. The venue is also available for film and photography shoots. If you have something different in mind, we’re happy to discuss how we can make it work. 

Is AV equipment included in the room hire?

Yes. All rooms include built-in AV equipment as standard, including projection, sound, and microphone facilities. Our in-house AV team is available on the day to manage your setup and provide technical support.

Can I hold a hybrid or virtual event at 20 Cavendish Square?

Yes. We offer PTZ cameras, video conferencing systems, and live-streaming capability for hybrid and virtual events. Our technical team will work with you in advance to plan the setup and ensure remote delegates can participate. 

What catering options are available?

Our on-site hospitality partner, Green & Fortune, provides everything from working breakfasts and buffet lunches to canapé receptions and seated dinners. All food is prepared on-site using fresh, locally sourced ingredients. View our hospitality options.

How do I get to 20 Cavendish Square?

The venue is in the heart of London’s West End, W1G 0RN. We are a five-minute walk from both Oxford Circus and Bond Street stations. We’re also well served by several bus routes. We held our first event at this venue yesterday and what a great event it was. The Cowdray Hall and Council room worked beautifully for our event, with high ceilings and windows the room felt very airy. Very helpful staff and event management by Rasa Turner.
